Fortnite Metallica Cup: How to participate, start date, rewards & more

If you want to participate in Fortnite’s Metallica Cup, then here’s everything you need to know, including the start date, match placements, scoring, and all the free rewards you can get.

Fortnite has dropped Metallica into the game as the headliners for Fortnite Festival Season 4. They have joined with their own skins and cosmetics, Metallica Loot Island, Ride the Lightning guitar mythic, and several Metallica quests.

However, Epic has also announced that players can compete in the Metallica Cup to earn exclusive themed rewards, so here’s how.

Start date

You can compete in the Metallica Cup on June 18. In this event, those who achieve the highest points totals in their session for each region will earn an exclusive in-game Metallica reward.

Each session will last approximately three hours, and players can participate in up to 10 matches during each session. 

To view the specific timing for each region, you can view this under the Metallica Cup tournament details section within the “Compete” tab.

How to participate

To participate in the Metallica Cup, you must be eligible by meeting Epic’s eligibility criteria, then just head over to the Compete menu tab at your region’s scheduled three-hour window and select the Metallica Cup to play and start your session.

Here are all seven parts of the criteria you must meet to participate in Fortnite’s Metallica Cup:

  1. Age – You must be at least 13 years old or greater depending on your country.
  2. Epic TOS and Fortnite EULA – You must comply with Epic’s Terms of Service and the Fortnite End User License Agreement.
  3. Two-Factor Authentication – You must enable Two-Factor Authentication on your Epic Account.
  4. Epic Affiliation – You must not be affiliated with the event in any way, such as an Epic employee.
  5. Player Names – Your player and team name must follow Epic’s Code of Conduct.
  6. Epic Account – Your Epic Account must be level fifty or above and free of any violations.
  7. Additional –
    • You must not play from any prohibited country outside of the U.S.
    • You may not participate in the event using iOS devices.
    • You can only use one device, one Epic Account, and compete from one Region
    • You must be Platinum rank or higher in Ranked Battle Royale

Match placements & scoring

You will earn 1 point for each elimination and earn extra points depending on your placement to get a total score for each Metallica Cup match.

All competitors are able to play up to 10 matches within their region’s three-hour window, with the scores for each match being added towards your overall score.

Here are all the points you will gain for each placement in the Metallica Cup match:

  • Victory Royale: 62 points
  • 2nd: 52 points
  • 3rd: 45 points
  • 4th: 40 points
  • 5th: 35 points
  • 6th: 30 points
  • 7th: 28 points
  • 8th: 26 points
  • 9th: 24 points
  • 10th: 22 points
  • 11th: 20 points
  • 12th: 18 points
  • 13th: 16 points
  • 14th: 14 points
  • 15th: 12 points
  • 16th: 10 points
  • 17th: 8 points
  • 18th: 6 points
  • 19th: 4 points
  • 20th: 2 points

Free rewards

Fortnite Metallica Ringer Emote.
The Metallica Ringer Emote is a reward for placing high in the Metallica Cup.

You will receive the Metallica Ringer Emote for placing among the top overall scorers in your region’s session.

No other rewards have been provided by Epic for players to receive, but if this changes we will update this piece as soon as they are announced.

Here are all the Metallica Cup placements you will need to achieve to obtain the Metallica Ringer Emote in your region:

North AmericaPlace 1st-2000th in your session.
South AmericaPlace 1st-500th in your session.
EuropePlace 1st-2600th in your session.
AsiaPlace 1st-500th in your session.
Middle EastPlace 1st-200th in your session.
OceaniaPlace 1st-200th in your session.
