Fortnite Developer Reveals When the Damage Trap Bug Will Finally Get Fixed

Epic Games has provided an update on the ongoing Damage Trap glitch in Fortnite Battle Royale and when it will be fixed.

The Damage Traps have seen a number of changes in recent months, with the most recent one seeing the base damage buffed from 75 to 150 in the V4.3 patch.

However, videos and reports quickly started to surface which showed a strange new glitch where players were being killed by Traps while standing on a floor above them.

Reddit user EyFezy was one of the first people to share a video of the bug on June 11th and an Epic Games employee was quick to respond with confirmation that it would be looked into.

Roll forward to June 15th and the bug was still catching people out. Reddit user Svennieboy03 shared a video where three died to a trap that was below them after a fourth player set it off underneath.

Naturally, the glitch is beginning to infuriate players and there is very little that they can do to avoid dying to a trap that is on a different floor entirely.

Luckily for Svennieboy03, and all of the other players that have fallen foul of the trap glitch, Epic Games employee darkevil responded to the thread to confirm that the bug will be fixed “in the next major patch”.

If history is anything to go by, we can expect to see that next major patch, which would be the V4.5 update, on June 26th.

there is a possibility that the V4.4 Content Update, expected to be released on June 19th, could be classed as a “major patch”, but don’t hold your breath.
