Athletic Bilbao young star Iñigo Córdoba has had his FIFA 20 Ultimate Team starting lineup revealed and his midfield is one of the most unique collections of cards that you may have ever seen.

As a team that is built on the foundations of youth, especially from the Basque region of Spain, every few years Athletic Bilbao has a handful of new stars on the rise – destined to take the club towards the top of La Liga. Years ago it was Iker Muniain, more recently it was Inaki Williams, and now many will point to Iñigo Córdoba.

The 23-year-old left-winger has made 67 appearances for Athletic Club, with his form even helping him break into the Spanish youth ranks – though he hasn’t made the step up to the senior national team yet. While we won’t see the diminutive winger on the San Mames pitch anytime soon due to the ongoing global health crisis, he’s got plenty of time to play FIFA.

Cordoba can usually be found strutting his stuff around Estadio San Mames.

As a result, Córdoba has had his FIFA 20 Ultimate Team Starting XI revealed following the April 10-13 round of FUT Champs Weekend League games. Redditor PauloWanchope came across the young forward in a game as he has a 99-rated custom pro player card to prove that he is the real deal.

Though, unlike so many of his fellow professionals, Córdoba doesn’t have a team littered with icon cards. Instead, he’s got base cards and even FUT Champs player picks, though there is a slot for an 88-rated Michael Owen icon.

Inigo Cordoba’s FIFA 20 Ultimate Team:

  • GK: Thibaut Courtois – 88
  • LB: Ferland Mendy – 80
  • RB: Kyle Walker – 86
  • CB: Raphael Varane – 85
  • CB: Eder Militao – 81
  • CM: Tiemoue Bakayoko – 88
  • CM: Fabian Delph – 81
  • CAM: Christian Eriksen – 91
  • LW: Iñigo Córdoba – 99
  • RW: Xherdan Shaqiri – 87
  • ST: Michael Owen – 88

The most interesting part about Córdoba’s team, however, is the fact that his midfield isn’t like anything you’ll see elsewhere. Everton’s Fabian Delph is used to provide a link to Kyle Walker and Xherdan Shaqiri, but Christian Eriksen’s Inter Milan card is pretty much all on his own.

There is plenty of room to upgrade his team, especially with the base cards in defence. Though, they do provide good chemistry so the 23-year-old might be on to something with his unusual lineup.
