Selen Tatsuki is seeing incredible growth on her YouTube alt account after the former Nijisanji Liver had her contract terminated by the VTuber agency.

Following the news that her cover of Last Cup of Coffee had been privated and the dragon VTuber had been hospitalized, Nijisanji announced it had terminated Selen Tatsuki’s contract on February 5, 2024.

This was claimed to be due to “repeated breaches,” of its talent guidelines. Selen herself fired back on her alt account accusing Nijisanji of harboring a “toxic environment,” and allowing “bullying from within.”

Now that very alt account has exploded in popularity managing to surpass an incredible subscriber milestone less than 24 hours after the termination was announced.

Dokibird passes 250,000 subscribers on YouTube

Selen Tatsuki’s alt account Dokibird passed 250,000 YouTube subscribers in the early hours of February 6, 2024, as tracked by Socialblade. This milestone was reached less than a day after Nijisanji terminated her contract.

Her incredible growth isn’t showing any signs of slowing down either having surpassed both 100,000 and 200,000 subscribers on the same day she was fired by Nijisanji.

As of writing Dokibird has reached 254,000 subscribers on YouTube.

Dokibird is Selen Tatsuki’s alt account that she created content on before joining Nijisanji EN in July 2021. At the time of joining Nijisanji, Dokibird only had 424 subscribers, climbing to 9,230 on the day before the termination was announced.

Though impressive it is worth noting that Dokibird primarily streamed on Twitch before joining Nijisanji. On Twitch she had 8,120 followers in July 2021 and 8,858 followers before the announcement. As of writing, she now has over 40,000 followers on Twitch.

Upon awakening, Dokibird paid tribute to her fans posting on X/Twitter, “I hope I can fix my sleep schedule before I stream again because I just woke up… BUT 200k SUBSCRIBERS ALREADY???? I never thought I will actually get a playbutton, let alone before my first stream.”

Her fans have plenty to look forward to with Dokibird announcing her return YouTube stream will be held on February 7 at 17:00 PST and 20:00 EST. For European viewers, that’s February 8 at 01:00 GMT and 02:00 CEST.

Following Selen Tatsuki’s termination, Nijisanji has also been criticized for selling new merchandise of its EN branch members less than a day after the controversial decision.
