Playing with random teammates in Fortnite can be a risky business, and even more so for streamers, with trolls always ready to say something out of line.

Many streamers have had the misfortune of random teammates making racist or sexist remarks, even joking about rape – but Dakotaz’ encountered an even more sinister troll during his June 26 broadcast.

The player in question was explaining to Hoffman that he experienced bullying in school, although it was difficult to determine if he was being sincere.

After Dakotaz expressed that he “was sorry to hear that”, the player responded “I’ll get through it, either that or I am going to go there and ‘double pump’ them” – referring to the ‘pump’ shotgun in Fortnite.

Replying “I don’t like that kind of talk”, Dakotaz quickly mutes the player, before expressing concern to his viewers.

After his initial shock, the streamer decided that it would be best to just report the player, first to developer Epic Games, and later says he will also report them to ‘authorities.’

“I’m actually reporting your name to people right now, because that’s actually criminal to say,” Dakotaz explains, with the random player simply responding, “that’s ok”.

Having reported the player to Epic, Hoffman confirms that he will also report it to authorities: “This is no joking matter. He’s going to learn [that you can’t say things like that].”

Although it’s likely the player was only making the comments in an attempt to be edgy, Dakotaz was clearly not amused, and took the opportunity to make sure none of his viewers thought such jokes were ‘funny’ either.
