Treyarch announces long-awaited release date for League Play in Black Ops 4

After weeks of teases and increases anticipation from the Black Ops 4 community, Treyarch have finally announced the release date for the highly-requested League Play mode.

League Play has been one of the staples in the Black Ops franchise since its inception, but the feature was infamously absent from Black Ops 4 at launch in October 2018.

Months of waiting from the community seems to have finally paid off as Treyarch at long last gave a concrete release date for League Play.

League Play has been the most requested feature of Black Ops 4 since the game launched in October 2018.

League Play will finally go live in Black Ops 4 with the new operation next week, with the first League Play event officially going live on February 21.

It’s set to be a massive week for Black Ops 4 fans as a major weapon balance pass will also hit the game two days prior on February 19.

While League Play was initially only going to be live during special events over the course of three-day events on the weekends, Treyarch announced in their January 29 blog post that it would be expanded to include events throughout the entire week.

Treyarch also detailed a revamped ladder system in that same post that seeks to alleviate many of the problems that past iterations of League Play had.

Additionally, Black Ops 4 will be receiving a World League hub that allows players to check out all the latest action during the CWL Pro League right from the Black Ops 4 menu.

League Play finally has a release date of February 21.

The journey to the implementation of League Play in Black Ops 4 has been a long one as the mode was originally announced for late December before being delayed until January and then again until its current release date of February 21.

As we mentioned in our recent League Play blog, the World League Hub and League Play are coming to Black Ops 4 as part of next week’s new Operation on PS4, and League Play kicks off later in the week with our first League Play Event starting on Thursday, Feb. 21.

We can’t wait to see how the competitive meta evolves with the gameplay tuning changes listed above. Remember, the Pro Series Playlist is your chance to test out new loadouts based on the latest tuning changes and CWL rules, to make sure you’re ready to hit the ground running when League Play launches. Let’s do this.
