The Walking Dead finally graces CoD with Season 2 of MW3 and Warzone. However, the reveal of protagonist Rick Grimes has led to some brutal roasts due to how dated it feels.

Season 1 is coming to a close in MW3 and Warzone, with some of the highlights being another crossover with The Boys, Warzone, MW3’s integration, and Ranked Play, albeit via a midseason update.

Season 2 is right around the corner, and trying to stir up the hype train, Activision has released key art for the upcoming season, which features a look at The Walking Dead protagonist, Rick Grimes.

While Rick’s appearance did garner some hype, it also opened the doors for many roasts at how dated the crossover feels.

MW3 & Warzone Season 2 introduce The Walking Dead collab

The Walking Dead garnered a ton of success during its televised run, debuting in 2010 and ending in 2022. Rumors have floated around for some time that The Walking Dead would join CoD, and MW3 Season 2 delivers said rumors.

To say the arrival of Rick Grimes in CoD feels dated is a light way of putting it, and after Activision pulled back the curtain, players on MW3’s official subreddit let the team know exactly how they felt.

“Crossover so late I might as well expect Walter White to show up sometime,” one Reddit user said.

Important to note that Michonne will also join as part of the upcoming Season 2 crossover, most likely as a way to capitalize on the upcoming series, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live. Some of the comments shared hype for the crossover and the show. However, the majority of the comments brutally shared how dated this feels.

“Someone at AMC was handed a blank check to convince these companies that a TWD crossover is a cool idea,” another Reddit use said.
