The anticipation is building ahead of EA’s launch of Battlefield V’s launch on October 19.

The popular game franchise was first debuted in 2002 when Battlefield 1942 was released, and in that 16 years it’s come a long way from its humble beginnings.

Battlefield V is set to bring new life into the series, including their take on battle royale, which will include a giant wall of fire that destroys everything in its path.

On August 20th it was confirmed that the beta for the new game would be launched on September 6, or if you’ve pre-ordered, it will actually be available on September 4.

EA posted a statement regarding the open beta on their website:

“You’ve seen the Battlefield™ V multiplayer trailer, perhaps played the Closed Alpha, or maybe watched your favorite streamer get hands-on with the all-new multiplayer experiences, like the multi-map Grand Operations. But now it’s time for the Battlefield V Open Beta*, arriving this September.

When Can You Start?

The Beta opens to the public on September 6 and runs for a limited time. So, tell your friends to wake you up when September begins.

Pre-load load starts on September 3, at 8:00 UTC.

How Do I Get in Early?

If you subscribe to either EA Access, Origin Access, Origin Access Premier, or pre-order** a copy of Battlefield V today on PC, Xbox One, or PlayStation 4, you’ll get early access to the Open Beta starting September 4.

What Multiplayer Maps and Modes Can I Play?

Players can jump into the up 64-player Conquest mode on the Rotterdam map, set in the embattled Holland city, or the Arctic Fjord map, set in icy Narvik, Norway. In Conquest, you must battle for control of key locations on a massive multiplayer map, using the new Fortifications, towable weaponry, and Squad Reinforcements system.

Two “days” of Grand Operations are also available to players in the Open Beta. In this modular narrative experience inspired by historical events, each day is represented by a round of play, and player actions have a direct impact on the next round. Up to 64 players can deploy in the Airborne and Breakthrough modes on the Arctic Fjord map.

A Quick Ride on the Tides of War

A preview of the Tides of War — the ever-evolving journey through WW2 featuring a new narrative every few months — also awaits players in September. Each chapter of Tides of War is designed to focus on an aspect of the era, with unique gameplay experiences to drive players forward.

A five-part Tides of War chapter will be part of the Open Beta. Players who complete the chapter will earn an exclusive in-game Dog Tag in Battlefield V at launch.”

EA are handing over the multiplayer of Battlefield V to the fans with a final free weekend of play. So, if you haven’t dived into the game’s online portion just yet, here’s what you need to know.

Battlefield V dropped back on November 20, 2018, marking the 11th installment in the popular first-person shooter franchise. With the new release, EA Dice took things up a notch with multiplayer compared to previous titles, adding a battle royale mode as well as expanding on the mega Grand Operations.

With it’s one year anniversary coming around, as well as the release of the game’s fifth chapter, EA launched their annual Battlefest celebrations with a raft of content for players. Included in that has been free trial weekends – letting everyone jump into different aspects of the game.

When is Battlefield V’s free trial weekend?

Starting on Friday, November 1 and running through November 4, players will have the chance to experience all of the game’s multiplayer maps and modes in order to celebrate the release of the Pacific Theatre.

This means that players can try out the traditional Battlefield mode of Conquest, as well as the usual FPS game types of Team Deathmatch and Domination. Anyone who ever enjoyed ‘Rush’ can try their hand at Breakthrough which works in a similar way.

Where to download Battlefield V for the free trial weekend

The free trial weekends run on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and EA Origin for the PC. So, all you have to do is fine Battlefield V in your respective marketplace and hit download on the free trial.

Once you’ve waited for the long download and dropped into a game, you will be able to keep any progress you make should you choose to purchase the full game after that point.

So, what are you waiting for? Time is ticking down on your last chance to experience Battlefield’s epic multiplayer for free.

It’ll take some time to download, of course, but it’s better to act fast than wait until the last minute – especially when you can get in plenty more matches, too.
