Titanfall 2 fans are convinced that the franchise is going to receive some kind of resurgence thanks to multiple ‘hints’ from Apex Legends.

While many fans of Respawn Entertainment love the Apex Legends battle royale, there are plenty who still miss the Titanfall franchise’s style of gameplay.

Since Titanfall 2’s release in 2016, fans of the series have been desperate to see it continue on with many clinging to rumors that Titanfall 3 was still in development at Respawn. Of course, the team would eventually go on to make Apex, which has been one of the studio’s primary focuses for some time.

However, it seems there’s been some renewed hope among the community surrounding Titanfall’s resurgence, thanks to a handful of clues and coincidences surrounding both Titanfall 2 and Apex Legends.

Titanfall fans convinced a resurgence is coming

A tweet from content creator Iniquity gained traction among Titanfall fans after he pointed out some interesting coincidences.

Iniquity noted that Titanfall 2 playlists have been updated every day as of late, that Respawn fixed ongoing matchmaking crashes in online mode, and that Titanfall 2 is currently on sale for only $3.

The content creator also explained that the name of Apex Legends’ current season, Resurrection, could hint at a Titanfall resurrection and that the season ends “right around Titanfall 2’s 7th anniversary.”

It’s also worth mentioning that they included a popular meme of Charlie Kelly from It’s Always Sunny in front of a conspiracy theory board, noting that these clues simply amount to nothing.

Still, that didn’t stop many Titanfall fans from getting excited about the possibility that Titanfall 3, or some potential Apex Legends crossover, could come to fruition.

“That is..,a lot of weird coincidences Honestly I’m glad anything is happening. If we get an actual content update that would be really cool,” said one fan.

Another Titanfall 2 player said, “Surprise Titanfall 3 announcement incoming right guys????? (I’m coping)” to which Iniquity assured them they weren’t alone. “Me too don’t worry,” the content creator replied.

While all of those coincidences certainly seem suspicious when lumped together, Respawn Entertainment has stressed that should Titanfall 3 return in the future it would not be anytime soon.

Still, it seems that a shred of hope still lives on for Respawn’s mech-centric first-person shooter — especially among fans.
