Fans excited for Pokemon Horizons debut on Netflix will unfortunately have to wait a bit longer for the new anime series, after a fresh delay was announced for its arrival on the streamer.

With the conclusion of the last major Pokemon series, we finally said goodbye to Ash as he claimed his rightfully earned position as champion during the World Coronation Series. So, speculation for the new Pokemon series began as “Horizons” made the news rounds.

The new anime, Pokemon Horizons, was announced almost a year ago, in March 2023, featuring a new set of characters, moving away from Ash and Pikachu towards a new adventure in the Paldea region from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Excited fans have long waited for the new series, but unfortunately, they may have to wait even longer.

Pokemon Horizons has been delayed on Netflix

The official Pokemon X/Twitter account has announced that the new Pokemon Horizons anime has been delayed for its US release on Netflix.

Pokemon Horizons was initially scheduled for a February 23 release on Netflix in North America but is being delayed for no presented reason. The delay will last almost two weeks, with a new release date on Netflix set for March 7, 2024, nearly a year after the initial announcement.

The series previously made its English dub debut on BBC iPlayer for UK Pokemon fans to get their fix in December 2023. Still, Pokemon Horizons has yet to be released in any official capacity for North American streaming services, with the plan remaining to release the series on Netflix very soon.

The new series will focus on the journey of new characters, Liko and Roy, following their adventures through the Paldea region. Also appearing is a Pokemon Professor in the Paldea region, Friede, and his partner, Captain Pikachu. Fans can watch Pokemon Horizons on Netflix on March 7 2024.
