A man is coming under fire after popping off on a fitness influencer for recording her workout at the gym in what viewers are calling a “disrespectful” tirade.

It’s a new year, and many hopeful New Years Resolutionists are flocking to the gym to finally achieve their goals of getting fit.

However, one TikToker’s January workout didn’t go as planned — and ended up sparking a major online debate thanks to a fellow gym goer’s behavior.

21-year-old TikTok user ‘Emmy’s Baked Beans’ enjoys filming her workouts for her followers, racking up tens of thousands of views per post.

Man slams woman for filming her “stupid” workout in viral clip

One of her workouts is getting way more attention than usual, though, thanks to the behavior of another person working out next to her at the gym.

In a clip that’s going viral online, Emma can be seen using the lateral pulldown machine at her gym while a guy nearby loudly comments on the fact that she’s filming herself, clearly upset at her for recording.

“Try spending more time working out,” the man says. “It’ll help a lot more. Sitting there f*cking video taping yourself the whole time. It’s stupid why you’re doing it.”

Emma’s TikTok clip has racked up over 4 million views as commenters pour in with support for the TikToker.

“He’s miserable with his own life,” one viewer wrote.

“You’re better than me, ’cause I don’t have the patience,” another said. “This is wild.”

“The bystanders who witness this and say nothing are also part of a larger problem,” another commenter pointed out.

The clip even caught the attention of internet star and bodybuilder Joey Swoll, who called out the guy for his “disrespectful” rant toward the TikToker in a scathing video.

“Listen, I understand why so many people, both men and women, are so upset about filming in gyms. But that is never a reason to speak to someone this way, and be this disrespectful,” Swoll said.

Other commenters pointed out the many examples of female fitness influencers who’ve accused unassuming guys of creeping on them at the gym as a possible reason for the guy’s outburst.

Overall, it seems like most are on the TikToker’s side… but some are empathizing with the frustrated man, who has likely had enough of influencers filming their workouts for social media consumption at the risk of making regular joes go viral for all the wrong reasons.
