Young Sheldon is full of eccentric supporting characters that come and go — but now one is set to make her return in Season 7.

If the Cooper family themselves weren’t enough to deal with, The Big Bang Theory prequel series Young Sheldon has a whole host of supporting characters that can’t be easily forgotten.

From Dr. Sturgis and Dale to Brenda and her daughter who seemingly vanished into thin air, it’s no wonder that Sheldon himself is constantly stressed out by his environment.

With Young Sheldon Season 7 about to get started, one supporting character has been officially confirmed to return to the Sheldon-verse.

Forgotten Young Sheldon character returns in Season 7

Young Sheldon star Emily Osment has officially confirmed that Mandy’s mother, Audrey, will be returning for Season 7.

Mandy's baby shower in Young Sheldon

Viewers last saw Audrey in Season 6 Episode 11, working in her usual tire shop when Mary comes in demanding that she talk to her daughter Mandy. From the moment fans meet her, Audrey disapproves of Mandy’s choices — especially her unexpected pregnancy.

After meeting Georgie for the first time slightly earlier on in Season 6, Audrey reluctantly accepts the pair’s relationship for what it is, even going so far as to attend Mandy’s baby shower.

Over on Osment’s Instagram stories, a photo of Mandy and Audrey — played by Rachel Bay Jones — in the upcoming Season 7 was uploaded, accompanied by the caption: “working our butts off.”

For some Young Sheldon fans, the existing relationship between Mandy and both of her parents is an unsettling one, with some going as far as to call her “ungrateful.”

“As for Mandy’s parents, if not for her mother, her father would have done anything for her. Mandy’s mom (just like Pastor Jeff) is the type to keep up appearances, what will the neighbors think type of person,” one Redditor explains.

“I dislike the Mandy character so much that even though I love the show I can’t watch after she enters the cast. Why on earth would the writers bring in such an awful character in the first place? I just wish they would have at least made her somewhat likable,” a second further expanded.

Earlier Young Sheldon characters Paige Swanson and Billy Sparks are also expected to make their return in the Season 7 finale, which is set to be one hour long. The series premieres on February 15, 2024.
