Deadpool 2 actor Josh Brolin has hinted whether or not he will return as Cable for Deadpool & Wolverine.

The Merc with a Mouth is finally bringing his foul-mouthed, ultraviolent, fourth-wall-breaking schtick to the MCU.

Years after Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox and its roster of heroes (as well as its rogues gallery), we’ll soon see Deadpool tangle with the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The first official trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine dropped at the 2024 Super Bowl. The footage, which lasted just shy of two and a half minutes, revealed just how closely connected the anti-hero will now be to the greater MCU.

The trailer was so successful it managed to break the record for the most-watched trailer over a 24-hour period. And while it did provide fans with their best look yet at the upcoming movie, it did leave the door open for theories, Easter egg hunts, and more.

One actor who was omitted from the trailer was Josh Brolin. While the actor may be best known as Thanos in the MCU, Deadpool fans will know him as Cable from the second film.

In a new interview with Collider, Brolin was asked if he will appear in Deadpool & Wolverine.

“No. I don’t know,” Brolin began before elaborating further: “Because Ryan [Reynolds] doesn’t like me? I don’t know.”

However, the actor then looked directly at the camera and declared: “Maybe.”

While this still does not confirm whether or not Josh Brolin will appear in Deadpool & Wolverine, it is of course not a clear no.

Given that Brolin and Reynolds are good friends and got along well working together in Deadpool 2, there is a strong chance Brolin will return for the upcoming film, at least in a cheeky fourth-wall-breaking cameo.

Deadpool & Wolverine is set to release in theatres on July 26, 2024.
