Some eagle-eyed fans have spotted what they believe to be Deadpool variants within the Deadpool & Wolverine trailer.

At long last the first trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine, aka Deadpool 3, was finally premiered during this year’s Super Bowl.

Fans have been picking apart the trailer apart since it debuted from spotting the film’s potential big bad to theorizing the return of a MCU fan favorite.

And now some fans are claiming that some of the Deadpools we have seen in the trailer are not what they appear as they could be variants of the merc with a mouth.

Deadpool 3 could feature new versions of the character

Thanks to a now-viral Reddit post, some Deadpool fans are claiming that at least two of the Deadpools we saw in the trailer are not the wise-cracking, Ryan Reynolds type we’ve come to know and love.

According to DonShino, the Deadpool holding two machine guns and lying in the desert could be a variant Lady Deadpool or Ultimate Deadpool.

Their biggest point of evidence is that the Deadpool we see in the close-up shots does not have the same gloves that we’ve previously seen and they’re holding two machine guns, which are favored by both of these versions of Deadpool where as Reynolds’ Deadpool seems to prefer smaller handguns.

These two Deadpools would be considered variants or alternate reality versions of Deadpool who have somehow escaped through the multiverse.

The trailer has confirmed that the TVA, or Time Variance Authority, will play a huge role in the film and they handle the branches of the multiverse, so it wouldn’t be odd to see other world’s Deadpools running around.

Many Reddit users seem to think that Deadpool 3’s will mirror that of Loki Season 1 in which Wade Wilson is tasked to hunt down his variants who are growing increasingly dangerous and threatening the multiverses they reside in.

And, as many suspect Deadpool 3’s events will lead into Avengers: Secret Wars (which is supposed to be an all-out multiversal war), it would be wise for Wade and the TVA to eliminate any Deadpool that’s more dangerous and unhinged than the original.

Whether Wade will face off against his out-of-control variants or he just gets a glove costume change, it’ll all be revealed when Deadpool & Wolverine hits theaters on July 26, 2024.
