Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston has given his honest stance on potentially expanding the series’ universe with more entries.

Running from 2008 to 2013, Breaking Bad was one of the most unique dramatic shows on television at the time.

Starring Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul, the show followed high school science teacher Walter White and his drug addict former student Jesse Pinkman as they start a meth business and deal with the dangerous situations that stem from it.

While Breaking Bad has received one spin-off series so far, there have been rumors that the franchise may get more extensions, but Cranston has recently given his honest take on creating more entries for the universe.

Cranston thinks Breaking Bad needs to organically end

Entertainment Tonight sat down with Cranston and Jessica Chastain to talk about their upcoming action film Argylle.

While discussing his most famous roles such as Hal in Malcolm in the Middle and his role in Breaking Bad, Cranston was asked about he felt about Better Call Saul, the Breaking Bad spin-off, ending and the possibility of expanding the Breaking Bad Universe even further.

“Everything should come to an end, everything’s cyclical, our lives are cyclical, seasons, trees, everything,” Cranston said, “So it’s okay to have a beginning, middle and end and then let it go.”

Better Call Saul followed the rise and inevitable fall of Jimmy McGill (also known as Saul Goodman), a con artist turned lawyer who ended up working for Walter White during his reign as meth kingpin.

The show ran from 2015 to 2022 for a total of six seasons and zero Emmy wins despite incredibly standout performances from Bob Odenkirk as Saul, Jonathan Banks as Mike Ehrmantraut, and Rhea Seehorn as Kim Wexler.

There was also a sequel film to the series titled El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, which followed Jesse trying to start a new life after the intense actions in the series finale.

While rumors of another sequel show named The Way have been floating around the internet, it seems like the team behind Breaking Bad is following in Cranston’s footsteps and putting the universe to rest.
