Your guide to every song that plays on the amazing Argylle soundtrack, as well as the name of the artist who performs it.

Matthew Vaughn’s filmography is notable for its use of big tunes in big scenes, from Joan Jett’s ‘Bad Reputation’ in Kick-Ass to Lynyrd Skynyrd’s ‘Free Bird’ in Kingsman.

Argylle – which we reviewed here – is no different, with the movie’s star-studded cast grooving to tunes old and new throughout the movie.

So here’s what’s on the soundtrack, as well as details of when the major tunes play, and info on the soundtrack…

Every song on the Argylle soundtrack

The Argylle soundtrack features the following songs:

  • ‘You’re My Everything’ – Barry White
  • ‘Let’s Dance’ – David Bowie
  • ‘Get Up And Start Again’ by Ariana DeBose
  • ‘Do You Wanna Funk’ – Patrick Cowley ft Sylvester
  • ’Now and Then’ – The Beatles
  • ‘Electric Energy’ – Ariana DeBose, Boy George, Nile Rogers
  • ‘Run’ – by Leona Lewis

The movie’s trailer also made use of Bowie’s ‘Let’s Dance,’ which fits the disco vibe Vaughn was going for throughout the movie, when switching between Elly’s story and Argylle’s.

Barry White’s ‘You’re My Everything’ plays during the opening scene where Argylle meets Dua Lipa’s character and performs the Whirly Bird.

The official score for the movie was created by Lorn Balfe who has worked on multiple Mission Impossible movies, Gran Turismo, and Megamind.

The soundtrack also includes ‘Get Up And Start Again’ by Ariana DeBose. The actor and singer starred as Keira in Argylle. Her character is part of Argylle’s team and his helper throughout his missions. A special music video and song for the movie was produced with DeBose, Boy George, and Nile Rodgers singing ‘Electrice Energy.’

When it comes to songs used in the movie, there’s one in particular you should watch out for: Vaughn was approached to include an unreleased The Beatles song ‘Now and Then.’

According to RadioTimes, Vaughn was struggling to find the perfect romance song for Elly and Aiden. “And then Giles said to me… I thought he was joking when he said, ‘Do you want to hear the new Beatles song? It might fit,'” the director explained.

“And I was like, ‘What are you talking about? A new Beatles song, are you out of your mind?’ And then he played it to me. And I was just shocked. I was really, really shocked. And then it was like, ‘Oh my God, now I’m not allowed to tell anyone about this for a year!”

Vaughn called it an “honor” as he met with Paul McCartney and the families to get permission to use the song and show them the movie. “And yeah, I’m just amazed I got to work with The Beatles and use a new Beatles song. I mean… every time I think my life couldn’t get crazier it somehow does,” he said.

The Beatles song plays during a romantic blaze of gunfire in Argylle where Elly and Aiden take down members of the Directory while surrounded by a haze of colorful smoke bombs. Romance to a T.

Argylle is available to rent or buy digitally, while new movies streaming this month can be found here, and you can click here for the best movies of 2024 so far.
