Below Deck’s Captain Sandy reveals home builder got arrested for stealing her money

Even when she’s off duty from her leading role in Below Deck Mediterranean, nothing ever gets past Captain Sandy Yawn.

Captain Sandy Yawn has gotten into a ton of squabbles over the years, most of which come from her role on the show.

Not only has she been known to butt heads with many of her employees like Fraser Olender and fire others like Hannah Ferrier, but she doesn’t exactly have the fan-favorite Captain vote from viewers.

One would think that since Mediterranean is currently off the air she’s not involved in any drama, but guess again.

Sandy recently purchased a home for herself and her fiance Leah Schaffer, only to find out that the buyer didn’t complete the job. Not only that, but he managed to take the money that they gave to him to finish the construction with them.

Furious, she stopped at nothing to recover her money and that mission has led to an arrest.

Did Below Deck’s Captain Sandy just arrest someone?

On February 23, The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the builder in question, Spencer Calvert, has been arrested and charged with numerous counts including embezzlement and grand larceny.

As far as Captain Sandy’s reaction, the reality TV star is thrilled that the man responsible for her half-completed house is behind bars.

“We have a badass detective John McGuire working non-stop. This is just the beginning and justice has and will continue to be served,” she told EW.

She also confirmed that she and Leah are sticking with the home and trying to fund it themselves now that Spencer took a lot of the funding.

Sandy told the outlet, “We are working hard to earn money to finish and now have to get a construction loan.”
