After two chaotic seasons, Kyle Viljoen is officially done with being an iconic Deckhand in Below Deck Med.

One person who was usually the center of attention in the eighth season of Mediterranean was Steward Kyle Viljoen, but it usually wasn’t in a good way.

Throughout just a few episodes, he managed to get into arguments with Jessika Asai, Jack Luby, and Natalya Scudder. In fact, the situation between him and Nat was so bad that she left the season.

He even got on the bad side of his boss Captain Sandy Yawn, who ended up allowing him to finish out the season anyway.

After all of the drama among his co-stars, the judgement he received from viewers at home, and even the death threat that he ended up exposing, Kyle has had enough of the series.

Below Deck Med’s Kyle Viljoen is leaving the show

On January 22, Kyle penned a heartfelt message on Instagram, reflecting on his rollercoaster journey on Below Deck Med.

Because he started off the caption of the post with the phrase “It’s a wrap for me”, viewers were wondering if this was the reality TV’s stars way of saying that he was done with the show.

In the comments section, a fan asked Kyle ‘You leaving for good??’, to which he responded “The seas..Yes.”

A second confirmation was when another fan asked ‘No more below deck?’, and he simply replied ‘No’.

Since he was not fired by Captain Sandy during the season and Bravo has made zero mention of letting him go, this seems to solely be Kyle’s decision.

There haven’t been any updates on whether or not Season 8 is going to be getting a reunion episode. If not, then the season’s finale was truly Kyle’s final appearance in the BD franchise.
