As Pokemon Scarlet & Violet’s major content updates have come to an end, fans have discussed with features they miss the most from past Generations.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet introduced plenty of new features to the Pokemon franchise, including three main storylines to follow, Titan Pokemon boss fights, and much more.

However, there were also plenty of features from past Pokemon titles that didn’t make it into Scarlet & Violet.

Now that Generation 9’s major content updates have come to a close, fans have discussed which features from past games they missed the most in Scarlet & Violet.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet trainers discuss most missed features

A post on the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet subreddit gained traction after one fan made a thread titled, “Things I wish they brought back to Scarlet/Violet, or brought to future games.”

The OP listed the overworld Shiny sound effect prominently featured in Pokemon Legends: Arceus, as well as the weather map found in Sword & Shield.

This caused many trainers in the comments to share which features they missed the most and noted how many handy features have come and gone.

“I miss seasons and seasons actually affecting the world,” said one fan, in reference to Black & White and their sequels Black 2 and White 2.

Another trainer wanted to see Pokemon customization return and get an overhaul. “I genuinely want more customization for my Pokemon, like the Let’s Go costumes for Pikachu and Eevee.”

Many trainers also just expressed frustration that many great features repeatedly get cut from new Generations. “I hate how every game is always a step in the right direction and sometimes the next game removes that step,” said one fan.

While many of these features are unlikely to return in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, hopefully, some of these missed features return in the next mainline game. Perhaps fans will learn more about this through the upcoming Pokemon Presents for February 2024.
