Pokemon Go players have expressed their disdain for the Origin Forme designs of Sinnoh’s two Legendaries, Dialga and Palkia.

Pokemon Go’s Sinnoh Tour 2024 event has officially begun, with the Los Angeles event kicking off for ticket holders on February 17, 2024.

One of the main draws of the Sinnoh Tour 2024 event is the ability to encounter and catch Dialga and Palkia in the Origin Formes. Fans who’ve played Pokemon Legends: Arceus will remember these two alternate forms debuted in ancient Sinnoh.

However, Pokemon Go fans who are encountering these designs for the first time are not too pleased with the new looks, with some fans even calling the Legendaries “grotesque.”

Pokemon Go fans grossed out by Origin Form designs

A post on the Pokemon Go subreddit from a user named ‘A_Kumqwat’ sparked a discussion amongst fans. The trainer made a thread titled, “Unpopular(?) Opinion: Origin Dialga and Palkia look ugly and awkward and their designs make no sense.”

The OP went on to explain and said, “Wtf is even going on in their ‘true’ forms??? Why does Dialga have meat tenderizers for for legs but tiny sticks for hind legs? Same for Palkias hooves and high heels.”

After their critiques, they asked the community for their opinions, which brought in quite the variance in opinion.

Some players agreed with the OP’s judgement and called the designs ugly. “They look grotesque, unsettling, and unlike anything that should exist on Earth, which makes them fitting designs for celestial creatures.”

However, many noted that because of the lore introduced in Legends: Arceus, these designs make much more sense from a visual standpoint.

“If you don’t understand the lore, then these designs make no sense,” said one trainer. “But they have a reason for looking the way they do.”

For those who haven’t played Legends: Arceus, Dialga and Palkia’s Origin Formes express how the two Legendary Pokemon are trying to mimic their creator, Arceus.

Of course, much of this lore is not present in Pokemon Go meaning many players who only stick to the mobile game may only see them as awkward, lanky misfts.
