A hilarious Helldivers 2 bug has left a team of players stranded after their evacuation ship abandoned them by being launched into space.

Helldivers 2 is no doubt one of the most popular games at the moment. The third-person co-op shooter has surged up the Steam charts, even beating Rockstar’s GTA 5 in peak concurrent players. Players have fallen in love with the feeling of slaying hordes of enemies, all in the name of Super Earth.

In fact, the game has become so popular that even the devs have told a player to not spend their last funds on the game, as the servers just can’t keep up with the immense demand.

And even when players get into the game, sometimes they can run into nasty but hilarious bugs, preventing them from extracting and completing their mission.

Helldivers 2 bug sends evacuation ship flying and leaving crew stranded

As demonstrated by one player, calling in a Mortar Sentry Stratagem while extracting might not be the best of ideas. Twitter user LilRayms and their team were just about to extract, completing their mission with about 9 minutes to spare.

Well they would’ve completed the mission had they not called down a Mortar Sentry where the shuttle was landing. Doing so resulted in the evacuation ship being launched up into space, where the players could no longer reach it.

The players were astounded at the bug, bursting out in disbelief and laughter at what they had just witnessed. Despite the bug being hilarious, it meant that they weren’t able to extract, as the ship eventually landed upside down out of the combat zone.

With Helldivers 2 constantly being worked on by the devs, it’s likely bugs like this will be ironed out over time. But that doesn’t stop it from being one of the most goofy and laughable experiences the game has on offer.
