The mysterious Fortnite cube has destroyed the brand new building at Tilted Towers

The construction work at Fortnite’s Tilted Towers, which was only completed in the V5.40 patch, has been destroyed by the mysterious purple cube.

The new building was only completed on September 6 as part of the V5.40 patch – it had been an ongoing project ever since a meteor had struck its predecessor at the end of Season 3.

However, it looks like time has already been called on the new construction as the strange purple cube that has been travelling around the map has quite literally levelled it to the ground once more.

The cube, affectionately referred to as ‘Kevin’ by some players, has been moving around the Fortnite Battle Royale map for a number of weeks but nobody is entirely sure what its purpose is.

The most popular theories revolve around it eventually making its way to Loot Lake and sparking some sort of major event to celebrate the switch between Season 5 and Season 6.

The fact that the cube has destroyed a building that had only just been finished, and was the subject of another destructive event in a previous season, has convinced some community members that this will now be an ongoing joke between Epic Games and players.

“Watch this become an ongoing joke. Every season this building is going to be rebuilt and then destroyed,” said QuoteMasterLT on Reddit.

“Oh man, yes I would love this as a series of cartoon-style jokes where some really unlikely and elaborate bullshit knocks it down,” another Redditor responded.

Whatever Season 6 has in store for the Fortnite map, it looks likely that Tilted Towers will have to undergo construction work yet again.
