LDN UTD to hold open tryouts for new Fortnite roster

One of the newest esports organizations based in London will be doing something that’s largely unheard of in the esports realm.

While most esports organizations field teams consisting of the biggest names in each game, LDN UTD is flipping the script by taking a more grassroots approach.

On January 4, the org will be holding open tryouts for their Xbox and PlayStation Fortnite teams, allowing anyone the chance to represent LDN UTD.

The event will be held at Loading’s Server Bar in London from 6-10pm, with four winners ultimately being chosen to play for LDN UTD at the EStars Fortnite tournament that will be held at a few different football stadiums across the UK and Ireland throughout the first few months of 2019.

The tryouts will be free, as players simply need to register online to reserve their spot at the special event.

This event will be the first of many that LDN UTD will hold as they begin their journey into the esports world to find the best players around.

LDN UTD’s goal is to be a completely fan-driven organization, as fans will be able to invest in and ultimately make decisions on which players they think the org should go after.

LDN UTD is looking for the best talent at a grassroots level.

Prospective players will be able to upload their best plays to the LDN UTD website where fans will vote for their favorite ones that will then have the chance to attend a community event to compete for a place on the team.

With support from various sponsors such as Observatory, a 3D motion graphic design agency, LDN UTD will be looking to break the mold entirely in 2019.
