Fortnite Has Already Been Downloaded a Staggering Amount of Times on the Nintendo Switch
Fortnite: Battle Royale has already been downloaded a staggering amount of times on the Nintendo Switch after only one day.
Ever since its release in 2017, Fortnite: Battle Royale has solidified itself as a powerhouse within the gaming community as one of the most popular titles in recent memory.
The ‘free-to-play’ nature of Fortnite has been a major factor in its success, with players being able to purchase a collection of in-game cosmetic items such as outfits, emotes, and more, if they so choose, to customize their character.
It is offered on platforms such as the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and mobile, however, on Tuesday, June 12th, Fortnite was introduced on the Nintendo Switch after a massive amount of requests from community members.
In just over 24 hours since its announcement, Nintendo announced that the title has already been downloaded over 2 million times which puts its sheer popularity on display.
Thanks to all the #Fortnite fans who’ve already helped build up over 2 million downloads on #NintendoSwitch! Still haven’t jumped into the Battle Royale? Download it today for free on Nintendo #eShop! https://t.co/4xKVx2J2mL pic.twitter.com/brunlnnP7N

Even though Fortnite is a cross-platform title, many community members were concerned with the fact that Sony has blocked players from accessing their Fortnite account on the Switch if they have previously played on the PS4.
More information on the decision by Sony can be found right here.
