A brand new health item was added to Fortnite: Battle Royale as part of the recent v4.2 update that went live early on May 16th.

The new foraged Apples have now joined the list of health-increasing items that currently includes the Med-Kit, Bandages, and Chug Jug.

Here are the details about the new foraged item, as per the v4.2 update patch notes:

Added a new foraged item: Apples

  • Consuming an Apple will grant 5 health (up to 100).
  • Can uncommonly be found around certain trees throughout the map.

Perhaps the most important aspect of the new Apple is that it grants health up to 100, which means that it can be taken as a supplement to the Bandages, which only grant health up to 75.

Unlike the Med-Kid and Bandages, the Apples cannot be stacked or saved in the inventory, meaning that they can only be consumed when found throughout the map.

However, they can provide a small and quick health boost in case of emergency, as they are essentially found anywhere were there are trees, although chances are they won’t be around certain type of trees like pine trees.

A video published by YouTuber ‘Lachlan’ provides a good look at the new health Apples and where they can be most easily found on the map in Fortnite.
