OffKai Expo has dropped three Nijisanji EN members from the event following concerns that their attendance would negatively impact the desired “positive convention experience,” for guests and vendors.

Following the news of Selen Tatsuki’s termination and Nijisanji’s alleged toxic environment, the agency has taken a sizable reputation hit in the wider VTuber community.

Despite the CEO’s assurance changes would be made to prevent a similar situation in the future, many fans are still upset with what transpired. These controversial events even led Nijisanji to lose collaboration opportunities with official partners with HYTE withdrawing on February 7.

With the popular VTuber convention OffKai Expo just a few months away, Nijisanji had an opportunity to reach out to its fans and potentially improve the situation, but that won’t be happening anymore.

Offkai Expo drops Nijisanji EN’s Ethyria

OffKai Expo has announced on X/Twitter that it has canceled the Nijisanji panel featuring the three members of Ethyria, “After thoughtful consideration, Offkai Expo believes that recent events have resulted in an environment where Ethyria appearing would not be conducive to a positive convention experience for ANYCOLOR Inc’s Livers or our attendees.”

The announcement continues, “Enna Allouette, Millie Parfait, and Reimu Endou will not be appearing at OffKai Expo 2024,” with the three Ethyria members previously set to be the lone Nijisanji representatives at the convention.

OffKai Expo clarified, “For the record, this was a decision made two weeks prior and has no relation to today’s events and misunderstandings,” in reference to concerns that some guests and vendors were being rejected due to Nijisanji’s influence.

The VTuber convention refuted these claims assuring fans, “Nijisanji has not influenced our guest or vendor hall decisions at any point in time,” and that claims stating otherwise made them “deeply concerned.”

As of March 5, neither Nijisanji nor any of the three impacted Livers have commented on the decision either on stream or in a more official capacity.

Meanwhile, the fan reaction has been mixed with some believing this decision was necessary to protect the event’s feel-good factor while others have accused OffKai Expo of acting too rashly and being influenced by third parties.
