Immensely popular Minecraft YouTuber Technoblade has died aged 23. The content creator’s father confirmed the news in a final YouTube video, sharing Techno’s final message after his battle with stage four cancer.

Having revealed his diagnosis to fans last year, the 23-year-old YouTube star was mostly away from the spotlight as he went through chemotherapy. During a 9-year career on YouTube, Technoblade amassed over 10 million subscribers, and was considered an innovator in the Minecraft scene, as one of the leading content creators for the game.

In a devastating update on June 30, Technoblade’s father appeared in one last upload, sharing news that his son had passed away.

Technoblade wrote a final message to fans around the globe, which his father read out, expressing that if he had a hundred lives, he “would choose to be Technoblade again every single time. Those were the happiest years of my life.”

“You’ve done so much for so many people, millions of people,” his father told him. “If you want to, you can rest. But if you want to write one last video and you’re waiting for things to get better, I would say don’t wait.”

Technoblade used his father’s laptop to write his final message, passing away just eight hours later.

He was surrounded by his family through his last days. “We all said goodbye,” his father added. “He was the most amazing kid anyone could ever ask for.”

“We, the family of Technoblade, wanted all of you to know just how much he adored and respected his fans and colleagues,” a message read at the end of the YouTube video.

“This past year had a lot of rough spots for our son as he battled stage four cancer. But he didn’t complain, and kept using his famous strategic mind to try to beat what he knew were almost impossible odds.

“My son’s bravery on this path was a shining lesson to all of us who were privileged to walk it with him.”

Known for his Minecraft content, specifically his role in Dream’s Minecraft server Dream SMP, Technoblade amassed millions of dedicated fans across social media.

Minecraft players on the Hypixel Server, which he frequented, can leave a message to Technoblade’s family over the next month. These condolences will then be printed and sent to his family in tribute.
