Danganronpa cosplayer shows off ultimate Junko Enoshima look

Matt Porter

An incredibly talented Danganronpa fan has created a perfect cosplay of one of the visual novel series’ most chilling characters, the ‘Ultimate Fashionista’ Junko Enoshima.

Danganronpa has become a cult classic ever since the release of the series’ first game back in 2010 on PSP, gripping fans worldwide with its terrifying gameplay, interesting characters, and the frightening yet incredibly immersive storyline that runs throughout the franchise.

The series follows the stories of top students at a number of different high schools, who are tasked with killing one of their classmates without getting caught. Players are tasked with undertaking deadly trials, hunting for clues, and eventually finding out who the murderer is, and for many, the series has earned a special place in the hearts of fans across the planet. Cosplayer ‘tenevi_hagane’ is clearly a fan, showing off her incredible take on one of Trigger Happy Havoc’s most recognizable characters, Junko Enoshima.

Junko may look innocent, but she has a nasty side.

Junko Enoshima players a major role in Trigger Happy Havoc, with the Hope’s Peak Academy student originally seeming like a happy and carefree girl. As the story unfolds, however, her true attitude rears its head, as she becomes sinister, easily bored, and apathetic to the plights of her fellow classmates. With her behavior becoming more menacing and erratic, her classmates finally understand that her only goal is to bring despair wherever she goes, as it is the only emotion she truly feels.

Despite her villainous actions, Junko remains one of the most popular Danganronpa characters to cosplay, and is instantly recognizable thanks to her pink hair, which sits out in two massive ponytails either side of her head. These gigantic sections of hair are held in place by Monokuma hair clips, one with a cute smiling face, and a black one with bright red eyes, to show off the duality of personality.

Tenevi has also created a brilliant version of the character’s school uniform, complete with a black vest over a white dress shirt, a red pleated skirt, and a black and white tie in the style of her Monokuma hair clips. Of course, Junko’s red bow is also present for extra detail, sitting perfectly on the right lapel of her shirt.

Fans of the series are still waiting for the next installment of the Danganronpa franchise, following the release of Killing Harmony back in 2017 to critical acclaim.

Those hoping for a new addition to the franchise this year seem likely to be disappointed too, with the developers instead developing a new series with Too Kyo Games. There will be some new content though, as Spike Chunsoft confirmed some celebration broadcasts for Danganronpa’s tenth anniversary.
