Fans of the popular first person shooter don’t have long to wait to get their hands on the latest addition to the Call of Duty franchise, as we edge closer to the release of Black Ops 4.

The game is set to release on Friday, October 12, worldwide, featuring the always popular multiplayer and Zombies modes, along with Call of Duty’s first foray into the battle royale genre, Blackout.

Black Ops 4 will be available to purchase on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and on PC via Activision Blizzard’s online platform, Battle.net.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will be the first game in the franchise to not feature a single player story mode, instead opting to include the new battle royale mode, Blackout.

Blackout is played on Call of Duty’s biggest ever map, and sees up to 100 players skydive into the map alone, in pairs or in a squad of four to battle to be the last man or team standing.

Call of Duty’s Zombies mode returns with three new maps and a four-man-strong troop of new characters for fans of the undead series to enjoy. The always popular multiplayer mode features 12 maps on release, with the legendary Nuketown map set to be reworked and available to download for free in November.

While the game releases on all three platforms simultaneously on Friday, October 12, it’s already been confirmed that PlayStation 4 users will receive DLC content seven days earlier than Xbox One and PC players.
