Nintendo has announced that Mario Party 3 is coming to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, where it can annihilate friendships worldwide, thanks to its new online functionality.

The final entry in Nintendo 64’s Mario Party trilogy will soon be available to modern audiences, as Mario Party 3 is coming to Nintendo Switch. Like all of the modern Nintendo 64 titles, you’ll need the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack to play them.

Mario Party 3 was the last Mario game to be released on the Nintendo 64, but it did so with a bang, having learned its lessons from the previous entries in the series, such as “Don’t injure Mario Party players with bad controls.”

Mario Party 3 was the first entry in the series with a Story Mode, had all minigames were unlocked from the start, and players could now hold multiple items simultaneously. This was also the first entry with Daisy and Waluigi as playable characters: the ideal choice for troll players worldwide.

Mario Party 3 is coming to Nintendo Switch on October 27

A new trailer on the official Nintendo of America YouTube channel has announced that Mario Party 3 is coming to Nintendo Switch Online on October 27. To play it, fans must subscribe to the Expansion Pack service, giving access to both Nintendo 64 and Game Boy Advance titles.

The Nintendo Switch version of Mario Party 3 has a prized feature that wasn’t available on the Nintendo 64: online multiplayer. Multiple people can connect to the same game via the Internet, allowing up to four-player multiplayer.

While fans have criticized the Pokemon Stadium games for lacking features, the response to Mario Party 3 has been much more positive. It’s considered by many to be the best entry in the series on the Nintendo 64, with the biggest number of minigames available and lots of boards to choose from.

Now that the final Nintendo 64 Mario Party title is on Nintendo Switch Online, the list of first-party titles for the platform has shrunk considerably. Hopefully, this means that the original Super Smash Bros. is next on the list, as that’s one of the remaining titles that would benefit the most from the online multiplayer available on Nintendo Switch.
