Necrozma was the cover Legendary for Pokemon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, but has this powerful creature made its way to Pokemon Go, and what about Dawn Wings Necrozma and Dusk Wings Necrozma?

Necrozma is a Psychic-type Legendary Pokemon from Gen VII, connected to the fearsome Ultra Beasts. It has three forms that change its type, which involves fusing with other Legendary Pokemon or using Z-Moves.

Niantic has teased the arrival of Necrozma in Pokemon Go in the past, along with its Legendary fusion forms, but can you actually catch it in the game?

Can you catch Necrozma in Pokemon Go?

Yes, Necrozma is currently available in Pokemon Go. This applies to all of its forms and Shiny variants.

However, we should note that as of May 2024, its availability is limited due to Necrozma’s ties to Go Fest 2024.. Necrozma will debut in Raid battles during the local Pokémon GO Fest 2024 events in Sendai, Madrid, and New York, as well as at the global event!

This means that Necrozma will debut at different times:

May 30 – June 2, 2024; Sendai, Japan
June 14 – 16, 2024; Madrid, Spain
July 5 – 7, 2024; New York City, USA
July 13 – 14, 2024; Worldwide

Pokemon Go Fest 2024 will also feature the debut of Necrozma’s fusion forms: Dawn Wings Necrozma and Dusk Mane Necrozma.

How to fuse Necrozma into Dawn Wings Necrozma

To fuse Necrozma with Lunala into Dawn Wings Necrozma, 1,000 Lunar Fusion Energy, 30 Necrozma Candy, and 30 Cosmog Candy will be needed. This will form Dawn Wings Necrozma with the Moongeist Beam Charged Attack.

Lunar Fusion Energy and Necrozma Candy can be earned by defeating the Dawn Wing version in 5-Star Raids during Go Fest 2024 events, as well as completing Special Research Tasks.

How to fuse Necrozma into Dusk Mane Necrozma

To fuse Necrozma with Solgaleo into Dusk Mane Necrozma, 1,000 Solar Fusion Energy, 30 Necrozma Candy, and 30 Cosmog Candy will be needed. This will form Dusk Mane Necrozma with the Sunsteel Strike Charged Attack.

Solar Fusion Energy and Necrozma Candy can be earned by defeating Dusk Mane Necrozma in 5-Star Raids during the Pokemon Go Fest 2024 events and through Special Research Tasks.

Can Necrozma be Shiny in Pokemon Go?

Yes, Necrozma’s Shiny variant will launch alongside its regular form. The Shiny version of Necrozma is a dark shade of indigo rather than black, so it’s not as impressive as other Shiny Pokemon.
