IRL Twitch streamer CookSux saves stray kitten

IRL Twitch streamer CookSux has captured the hearts of viewers after saving a stray kitten while visiting China.

Twitch streamer CookSux, known best for his IRL content, has previously made headlines for various mishaps and unfortunate circumstances.

From getting harassed outside of a restaurant, attacked by a group of teenagers, and threatened with a knife, CookSux hasn’t had the best of luck.

Now, however, the Twitch streamer has caught the internet’s attention for a far more wholesome reason — saving a stray kitten.

While visiting Shanghai, China, and streaming with fellow content creator ‘may5w,’ the pair stumbled across the friendly stray kitten. As it climbed onto May, CookSux announced, “We have to keep it now!”

Noticing the stray had an eye infection, the streamers decided to bring the kitten to a vet for proper treatment and care.

Despite their good intentions, concern spiked after another Twitch streamer spotted something with potentially deadly consequences.

User ‘sweetanita‘ took to X (formerly Twitter) in an attempt to warn CookSux that feeding a kitten upside down as the vet worker had done could potentially kill it.

“I’ve done animal rescue my whole life and I’ve been called out to people who accidentally killed animals with good intentions,” Anita wrote in the thread, describing an instance in which a man had accidentally drowned an animal in his care by feeding upside down. “It’s horrible watching kind people be overcome with guilt when they make mistakes and try to help without doing any research.”

Despite Anita’s worry that her tweet would not be seen in time, CookSux’s editor assured that he would pass the message along and the Twitch streamer himself later responded.

“Thanks Anita and everyone else for the heads up! It was 4 am my time in China when this tweet went out, but I’m awake now,” CookSux wrote, going on to call the kitten a “fighter.” He also provided an update on the kitten’s condition, showing him and May visit the stray the following day.

“The lady working there showed us that the kitten was ok and doing just fine. She explained to us that she doesn’t have much room for another cat at the shelter so she is going to try and find it a better home,” CookSux revealed. “However, if she can’t she is going to take care of it.”

CookSux promised viewers he would return to give a final update after traveling in China for two weeks.
