Do-hee in My Demon Episode 13.

My Demon is heading into its final episodes and has cracked open the storyline regarding how Do-hee’s parents died when she was younger – here’s a full breakdown.

Throughout the K-drama, fans began to question Madam Ju’s inherent guilt and its possible connection to Do-hee. With Madam Ju’s eldest son proving to be a madman and planning Do-hee’s murder, it was assumed he also had something to do with the deaths of her parents.

Fans were in for the shock of their lives when it was revealed that only Madam Ju was present during the death of Do-hee’s mother and father. But so was Gu-won. The demon who makes contracts with humans and now Do-hee’s husband.

The threads of the grand secret have come undone as Do-hee learns everything about the people she called family. Let’s dive into how did Do-hee’s parents die in My Demon. Warning: Spoilers ahead!

Do-hee’s father made a deal with Gu-won

It’s revealed that Do-hee’s parents were going to make Madam Ju’s company indiscretions public, leading to a car chase between them. But per fate that same night, the contract Do-hee’s father made with Gu-won expired – leading to his death.

Everything is revealed in My Demon Episode 14. Do-hee learns from Suk-min the heartbreaking truth that Madam Ju was behind the fateful night of her parent’s deaths. Well, at least part of it. As fans know, Do-hee’s parents had already left the company years ago but returned to address Madam Ju’s wrongdoing.

In a flashback, Do-hee’s father confronts her about tampering with numbers in an environmental report. The report was changed to help secure an investment but at the cost of people’s lives. Do-hee’s father threatens to make the information public, while Madam Ju threatens them back as she has more power. But he says he will go ahead with releasing the information.

But Do-hee’s mother is urging her husband to leave claiming they don’t have much time left. While driving, they are on the phone with someone about the information that needs to be made public and soon realize Madam Ju is tailing them with evil intent.

Do-hee’s father tells his wife they will make it one time for him to say goodbye to their daughter. At the same time, their front wheel pops leading their car to overturn. It also has Madam Ju crash. As Do-hee’s father awakens, he sees a figure walking towards them.

My Demon reveals that Gu-won has arrived to collect his contract. Theories were true. Do-hee’s father made a deal with Gu-won for reasons unknown. That night was the 10-year mark. It just so happens that fate intervened as well. Gu-won collects his contract and Do-hee’s father dies of a heart attack. Madam Ju had witnessed everything and felt guilt ever since.

So who killed Do-hee’s parents in My Demon? It’s a combination. Do-hee’s father dies not because of the accident but because of the contract that needed to be fulfilled. But Do-hee’s mother dies in response to the car crash, insinuated by the chase by Madam Ju. The priest who tells Do-hee the truth admits things would have gone differently if Madam Ju didn’t follow them.
