Superman actor Henry Cavill has gone on record to state that his involvement in the upcoming Warhammer 40,000 film is the “greatest privilege” of his “professional career.”

Henry Cavil is one of the biggest names in Hollywood. The British actor first found fame through his role in the period drama The Tudors but was then shot to stardom when he was cast as Superman.

While his turn as an iconic hero did have its bumps and troubles, fans almost unanimously agreed that his casting in the role was perfect despite the direction and characterization of his films being unexpected and lacking at times. Many were disappointed after it was confirmed he would not be coming back to the role despite appearing in the post-credits scene of Black Adam.

Cavill found further fame through his portrayal of Geralt of Rivia in the Netflix adaptation of The Witcher, a beloved book series that has also been turned into a video game trilogy.

However, Cavill revealed that he would no longer be working with Netflix on the show, stepping away from the character after 3 seasons.

On the most recent episode of the Happy, Sad, Confused podcast with Josh Horowitz, the Superman actor revealed that he is extremely excited to be leading the charge for the upcoming Warhammer 40,000 film and work closely to help expand the world into a fully-fledged cinematic universe.

“It is the greatest privilege of my professional career to have this opportunity,” Cavill began.

“I can’t say too much, again it’s early days still, but to have this opportunity to bring it to the screen and be at the tiller so it can be faithful, is key to me.

The actor then added, “this is the stuff I’ve been dealing with since I was a kid. This is the stuff I spend my free time daydreaming about, as an adult as well.

“And I get to bring it into life. And there is no greater reason that I joined the industry than doing something like this, and I’m very happy to be here.”

At the time of writing, not much is known about what the Warhammer 40,000 film will entail and how Cavill and company plan to expand the world into a cinematic universe.

In saying this, we’ll be sure to keep you updated as more details are revealed in the coming months.
