The cast of Daredevil: Born Again continues to grow, bringing back Wilson Bethel as the assassin Bullseye.

It’s been a rough road for Daredevil: Born Again. First announced at San Diego Comic-Con 2022, the MCU relaunch of the Netflix series seemed to be the hottest thing the show had going for it.

Marvel didn’t waste any time reintegrating Charlie Cox’s Daredevil with appearances in Spider-Man: No Way Home, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, and Echo. However, rumors of a troubled production and poorly received opening episodes have led to a total restructuring of the project.

The show is currently working to get back on track, adding previously missing principal actors and starting over with new scripts. Now the cast is getting rounded out with a returning villain, too.

Daredevil: Born Again adds Wilson Bethel’s Bullseye to cast

As reported by ComicBook.com, Wilson Bethel will be returning to the production as Benjamin Poindexter, aka Bullseye.

Bethel’s Poindexter was a fan-favorite addition to Daredevil Season Three. An FBI agent gifted with uncanny marksmanship and accuracy, he spent much of the third season masquerading as Daredevil as part of Kingpin’s effort to smear the hero’s name.

In the Marvel Comics, Bullseye is most often a Daredevil foe, but has also found himself at odds with Marvel heroes such as Hawkeye and The Punisher. The character is a ruthless, amoral assassin with perfect aim who is behind some of Daredevil’s greatest losses, including the murders of Elektra and Karen Page.

The news of Bethel’s return comes just a few weeks after it was announced Born Again would bring back Elden Henson and Deborah Ann Woll as Foggy Nelson and Karen Page. Early rumors were that their characters were to be killed in an off-screen incident.

While ComicBook’s report does confirm Bethel’s return, it’s currently unclear how many episodes he’ll appear in. It’s also unclear what shape that will take; the Season 3 finale saw Poindexter taken away with a broken spine.

The final moments of Daredevil Season 3 showed him in surgery to have his vertebrae reinforced with Cogmium steel, a nod to his comic counterpart’s Adamantium spine.

Daredevil: Born Again is currently slated for a 2025 release on Disney+.
