Pokemon Scarlet & Violet player bags uncatchable Shiny with “pro strats”

A clever Pokemon Scarlet & Violet player has achieved the impossible and managed to bag themselves a Shiny Pokemon that would ordinarily be lost.

Most Pokemon players would fall over themselves to bag a Shiny, as those elusive creatures are incredibly hard to find, even in titles like Pokemon Scarlet & Violet.

One thing players don’t want, however, is to encounter a Shiny they can’t catch, squandering all of their luck in one futile moment. Pokemon Scarlet & Violet feature a new mechanic called the Synchro Machine, allowing players to wander around as Pokemon, and even bump into a Shiny.

The main problem is that if you stray too far away from your trainer if you encounter a Shiny, it’ll be lost by the time you swap back with your Pokemon and wander back to where you saw it. Such a thing happened to one trainer, but they managed to finesse the game and bag a Shiny regardless.

Pokemon player uses wild technique to corral a wandering Shiny

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet player – and content creator – Shiny Catherine has shared a video to X (Twitter), detailing a great technique when faced with an impossible Shiny after wandering too far with the Synchro Machine feature.

As shown in the video, Shiny Catherine was wandering around The Terarium from Pokemon Scarlet & Violet: The Indigo Disk, and while using the Synchro Machine to float around as a Shiny Latias they stumbled across a Shiny Braviary.

Considering they were a fair distance away from their trainer while exploring, ordinarily that Shiny would be considered lost, but instead, Shiny Catherine slowly blocked and corralled the Shiny Braviary, over a painstakingly slow period.

Lots of Pokemon fans are sharing how impressed they are in the comments, as one person says “So you basically became a sheepdog. Thats it. Im trademarking that hunting method name.”

Another comment just below adds, “DID YOU JUST HERD A GODDAMN BRAVIARY” before a separate comment says, “Talk about shepparding in Pokemon. Congrats!”
