A Pokemon Go player ended up taking a “fat L” after they ended up evolving a Pokemon that would have been perfect for the Great League.

Players who take on PvP in Pokemon Go will know that there are a variety of different Leagues that trainers can take part in.

The different Leagues have CP limits that Pokemon are allowed to enter, with the Great League having the lowest threshold.

As such, it can be a bit difficult to find the perfect fit for a Great League powerhouse. This is why the Pokemon Go community told one player they took a “fat L” after evolving one particular Normal-type.

A post on the PokemonGoMystic subreddit gained traction among the community after one trainer asked, “Was evolving this just a fat L?”

The OP added a screenshot of a Shiny Lickilicky that ended up being a 3-star after appraisal. The trainer said, “From what I’ve seen of Lickitung in PvP, was evolving this into Lickilicky a waste?”

For those who may not know, Lickitung is one of the premier Pokemon available in the Great League thanks to its bulk, move variety, and ability to spam moves.

Unfortunately, by evolving this Shiny Lickitung, they ended up being disqualified from the Great League’s CP requirements.

Many Pokemon Go fans in the comments were brutally honest when they broke the bad news. “Sorry yeah, pretty fat L,” said one fan, while another said, “It had perfect stats for Great League and it’s the top ranked Pokemon for it as a Lickitung with Body Slam.”

However, some fans tried to look on the bright side, such as one user who said, “No, you still needed to register the shiny dex entry.”

The trainer had even more unfortunate news and said, “I caught a sh*tty stat shiny Lickitung like right after evolving it too.”

It’s always brutal whenever a player makes a mistake when evolving certain Pokemon. Hopefully, this trainer lucks out and lands another Lickitung with respectable stats.
