MrBeast has chimed in on the recent drama surrounding new release Palworld and the resemblance many believe it shares with Pokemon, urging devs of the latter to up their game.

Palworld is shaping up to be one of the biggest games of 2024 already. The game quickly broke multiple records with player engagement and is only continuing to rise.

However, that isn’t to say Palworld is without controversy. In particular, the new game has come under major fire for its resemblance to Pokemon. This talking point is one that gamers, influencers, and more have all been chiming in on across social media.

The latest big name to throw their opinion into the mix is MrBeast. As one of the biggest and most popular content creators in the world, MrBeast is now asking Pokemon devs to step it up after Palworld’s unprecedented success.

Taking to social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), the YouTuber revealed that, as a longstanding Pokemon fan, Palworld’s fresh and inventive approach is one that he would love to see implemented in the beloved Nintendo franchise.

“I grew up playing so much Pokémon on my Gameboy and it’s crazy that all the games now are still basically the same thing.

“I would give anything for them to reinvent the model and just slightly try to freshen it up.”

The comments section of the initial post MrBeast commented on is filled with like-minded opinions, with many supporting and furthering the YouTuber’s stance on the controversy.

One user commented, “There’s too many new Pokémon and I don’t mind them doing that but it would be better to give them new forms with the same model. Would save them more resources.”

Another added, “They have no other choice now but to take their time and put in the effort for the next Pokemon game.”

For now, Pokemon devs are yet to comment on the rising popularity of Palworld beyond a suspiciously timed boast on social media. Whether they look to sue and take Palworld down, or instead reinvent the wheel with their own franchise as MrBeast insists, all remains to be seen.
