Palworld has generated a lot of hype based on its concept of Pokemon-esque creatures with guns, but many Pokemon fans feel the devs have gone too far and claim they’ve copied monster designs.

Palworld is a game that almost immediately caught the moniker “Pokemon with guns” following its reveal, with many excited to see how the game expanded upon Pokemon’s concepts and took them to new heights.

The game gives players survival and base-building mechanics to put their Pals to work and the ability to enslave and sell humans (yes, actually). And, that concept alone has been enough to propel the massive hype that’s been built up behind the game.

However, some Pokemon fans are rebelling against Palworld and calling for boycotts after claiming that many of the Pal’s designs are “blatant” copies and rip-offs of beloved Pokemon.

With the popularity of Pokemon over the years, it unsurprising that other devs have tried to create the experience of capturing and training monsters and repackage it with new and innovative ideas.

However, while Palworld has a compelling concept behind it, Pokemon fans are convinced that they’ve flown a bit too close to the sun and have “blatantly” copied and ripped off classic creature designs.

This post would prompt another user to post dozens of Pals new to Pokemon, claiming that each one has an uncanny resemblance to certain Pokemon.

They even claimed that the devs have taken designs from Pokemon fan games and projects as well to bolster the roster of creatures.

The devs have yet to respond to these allegations in particular, though they’ve gone on the record clarifying their game is “not a scam” ahead of release.
