Palworld player misses out on huge score due to “buggy” catch system

A Palworld player was left in disbelief after they missed out on a huge prize because of the catch system’s bugginess.

Some of the rarer Pals you can hunt down in Palworld can be really tough ones to capture due to their power.

It usually takes some planning and time to get their health down to a place where a person’s odds of capturing them are high enough to succeed.

Unless you are one Palworld player, who spent a lot of time weakening Pal to catch it only for the game to bug out.

Palworld player stunned after missing huge catch three times

The fan posted the clip of the event on the Palworld subreddit, with the heartbroken title: “There is just no way that I’m this unlucky…”

The clip shows them fighting the Relaxarus Lux boss, whose health is low enough that when they take their Pal Sphere out, the Capture Chance is at 97%. In almost any situation, this would be an automatic catch, but the game felt differently.

In the video, the player makes three different attempts to capture. All of them fail, causing the user to leave the battle in disbelief.

The community was stunned at the odds of this happening, with one user doing the math: “1/36k odds.”

However, many people claim the percentages shown in the game are never accurate. “If it’s not 100, it’s a 50/50 shot,” explains one fan when discussing how players can still miss regularly even at 97%.

There is a common belief that the Palworld catch system doesn’t work properly, leading to misses like this and others who have succeeded at rates as low as 0.15% catch rate.

While it can’t be confirmed that the system is broken or buggy in some way, it’s nice that the wronged player seems to have a somewhat good mindset about this happening, despite how heartbreaking it is.
