The coach for former UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has revealed who he believes would win between Jake Paul and Sean Strickland – and the result may surprise you.

YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul has taken the influencer boxing world by storm by facing off with legitimate fighters in the ring, and he has the results to back it up.

With wins over UFC icons such as Tyron Woodley, Nate Diaz and Anderson Silva, ‘The Problem Child’ has built up quite the record, and has most recently begun beefing with Sean Strickland.

Although the UFC prevented Strickland from fighting Jake Paul, Khabib Nurmagomedov’s coach believes that the YouTuber would actually prevail against Strickland and revealed why.

In an interview with DAZN, Nurmagomedov’s former coach, Javier Mendez, said that while Sean Strickland would “tear Jake Paul apart” in the cage, he’d do more than hold his own in the ring.

“Jake Paul would beat Sean Strickland at boxing. Jake has been boxing for over four years now, and Jake Paul’s the real deal, he’s a real boxer,” he said.

However, when it comes to MMA, it’s another story completely. Mendez is convinced that the former Middleweight champion would decimate Jake Paul.

“Whereas Sean Strickland is a real MMA champion, he’s not a boxer. He’s an MMA fighter, so I’d favor Jake Paul over Strickland at boxing because that’s Jake’s craft,” the coach added. “Inside the cage, Strickland would win by a landslide. Strickland would tear Jake apart.”

That said, Mendez says both men are tremendous athletes, but for boxing, he’s decidedly in favor of Jake Paul.

So far, Jake has yet to make his long-awaited MMA debut, but the PFL has confirmed that it will be happening this year, with no shortage of possible opponents lined up for him.

While we may not see The Problem Child and Strickland battle just yet, it’s certainly one to keep an eye on… especially considering the UFC star has begun fighting influencers and even destroyed Sneako live on stream.
