Khabib Nurmagomedov has responded to rumors that he will return to MMA for a fight at UFC 300 after a cryptic post from football star Zlatan Ibrahimović.

The long-awaited UFC 300 card is still being assembled, and with fans clamoring for more big names to be added to the milestone event, Khabib has weighed in.

In the world of MMA, there Khabib Nurmagomedov is one of the greats. The undefeated fighter went 29-0 in his career and dominated the Lightweight division as its champion before retiring in 2020.

On January 15, rumors began to swirl about a possible return for Khabib when Swedish footballer Zlatan Ibrahimović posted a photo with the MMA icon and added “UFC 300” as the caption.

Khabib addressed the possibility of a UFC 300 match on his Instagram stories in response to Zlatan’s caption at the game between AC Milan and Roma.

As reported by The Sports Rush, Khabib decided to end the speculation right then and there.

“UFC 300 will be without me, like UFC 400,” he said.

Unfortunately, this seems to put the matter to rest once and for all, seemingly confirming that he’s retired for good and has no interest in stepping back inside the octagon.

This echoes comments made by Javier Mendez, Khabib’s former coach, confirming that no such return was happening and Nurmagomedov is devoted to spending time with his family.

Khabib has even turned down big money fights against influencers since retiring. In 2022, he said he would squash Jake Paul in just a “couple of minutes” saying the YouTuber still has a lot to learn.
