Helldivers 2 is the brand new worldwide sensation that has encapsulated fans all over the world. It is a co-op third-person shooter which means working with your team is exceptionally important in the game.

Therefore, you have the option to mark locations as well as enemies on the map. The method to do this can be a little confusing, especially for new players.

How to ping and mark locations in Helldivers 2

If you want to ping and mark a location on the map, you can do so on both the PC and PS5. The methods for both of them have been discussed in the following section:

On PC, all you need to do is press Q on your keyboard and then use your mouse to pinpoint the location. Once you have adjusted your mouse, press left-click and a ping will be placed on the map.

PS5

If you are on PS5, press R1 and use your stick or D-pad to point to the location. As usual, align with the location you want and a ping will be placed on the map.

If you are pinging a location, then you will see a white marker, while enemies will be pointed out by a red marker. If you want to remove the marker, ping the location again. The markings will stay for a very short time, which means you need to make sure that your team is aware of the location or enemy you might be pointing at.

If you are on a PC, press Tab and open the mini-map. Use the right-click on your mouse to move the cursor and then your left-click to place the ping.

On the PS5, use your touchpad to open the mini-map. Use your analog stick to move the cursor and then press X to place the marker.
