Best solo build in Helldivers 2: Loadout, Stratagems, more

Helldivers 2 solo fighter

Helldivers 2 can be pretty tricky when you’re fighting alone, especially at higher levels. So, here’s the best Helldivers 2 solo build after all those Patch nerfs and buffs.

While battling alone in Helldivers 2 is certainly no walk in the park, it’s entirely possible and often makes for a fun yet chaotic experience. For some, the task can quickly get overwhelming, especially at higher difficulties and against tougher enemies.

However, with the right build, you can feel as unstoppable as democracy itself as you battle your way through tanks, hives, nests and so much more in the game. So, with that in mind, here’s the best solo build for Helldivers 2.

Best weapons for solo players in Helldivers 2

Helldivers 2 breaker shotgun

There are a few ideal weapons to try if you’re playing solo in Helldivers 2 but for a solid loadout, we recommend choosing the SG-225 Breaker Shotgun and the P-19 Redeemer pistol.

With plenty of ammo and damage to boot, you’ll be able to take down huge swarms with very few issues. Sure, the March 6 patch did nerf the Shotgun a little, but that doesn’t take away from its power enough for it to be considered anything but one of the best guns in the game. Add that with the best pistol in the game and you’re plowing through enemies like nothing else.

Best armor for solo players in Helldivers 2

If you’re playing solo, the best armor choice is undeniably Light Armor. You’ll need all the stamina and mobility possible.

Combine that with the possibility of not getting detected by the enemy and you can at least try and stealth around to the objective – or get the upper hand for an all-out assault.

Best Stratagems for solo players in Helldivers 2

Stratagems are key for any Helldivers 2 player, but they can be game-changing for solo soldiers. Thankfully, a few stand out as the best:

  1. SH-32 Shield Generator Pack
  2. Mortar Sentry
  3. RS-422 Railgun
  4. Eagle Airstrike

The SH-32 Shield Generator Pack is one of the best Strategems in the game and will provide solo soldiers a little extra protection when they have light armor equipped. It’s an ideal piece of kit that should not be missed.

Whether you’re extracting, battling a nest, or fighting a horde of Robots, a Mortar Sentry will be perfect. It’ll help destroy any you miss and will save a few bullets for your own weapon, just in case you run out and don’t have enough time to call down some ammo.

Despite its nerfs, the RS-422 Railgun remains one of the best stratagems in the game and still holds its place in the Helldivers 2 meta. It’s a fantastic added weapon that doesn’t use a backpack slot and will give you all you need to defeat Terminids or Automatons alone.

Lastly, the Eagle Airstrike is a quick and easy explosive tool you can use if it just gets a bit too busy. It’s quick to reload, easy to input, and keeps those smaller enemies away while you deal with any that get out of its blast. However, you’ll have to be careful with your uses as it’s not unlimited.
