Similar to the base game of Monster Hunter Rise, you will have to play through the story available in the Sunbreak expansion to unlock new Switch Skills for your weapons. However, there is one area that must be met before you can start unlocking these skills in the game.
You must reach Master Rank 4 to unlock and use new Switch Skills in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. Once you have reached the required rank, you will need to head over to the Elgado Outpost and learn Skill Swap from Master Utsushi. From this point onwards, you will be able to unlock new Switch Skills for all your weapons to use against formidable foes in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak.
