We’ve all heard of “monsters-in-law,” but one woman’s mother-in-law from hell truly takes the cake thanks to her jaw-dropping antics during her son’s wedding.
It’s no secret that marrying a momma’s boy can sometimes come with an overbearing mother-in-law… and that’s what one bride found out the hard way.
In a viral thread on Twitter/X, a Spanish-speaking user named ‘fulanodeobregon’ posted a series of photos showing a bride from Ciudad Obregón, Sonora, Mexico, wearing a white wedding dress that was covered in splashes of red paint.

Other photos show the sidewalk at the wedding venue smeared with streaks of the same red paint, as well as a plastic bottle filled with the paint that was thrown onto the ground.
The story behind the viral photos is even more shocking. According to the poster, the family of the groom was not happy with his choice in women because the bride didn’t come from “money.”
According to the poster, the groom’s family was quite wealthy and “wanted him to marry a rich woman.”
“They hated her and it became PSYCHOLOGICAL TORTURE where the boyfriend’s family dedicated themselves to speaking badly of her,” they wrote, alleging that the in-laws even sent her “narco messages, death threats, harm, harassment, and bullying on all networks.”
Things escalated on the day of their wedding, when the bride’s mother-in-law hired a group of thugs to splash paint on her wedding gown after refusing to attend the ceremony.
A Reddit post has corroborated these claims, saying that three men ran up to her — two with cans of paint and one recording the whole ordeal. “At first, guests thought the red paint might be blood,” the Redditor wrote. “I can’t even imagine what that must’ve felt like.”
Luckily, the bride didn’t let the attack bring her down. She changed into a gold, floor-length dress and returned to the venue to finish the ceremony with her now-husband.
Reddit: LarilariehOf course, that wasn’t the extent of the in-laws’ plans to stop the wedding from happening. They allegedly called in a tip to law enforcement saying that drugs were hidden at the photo location, and police supposedly searched all of the guests.
News of the ordeal has spread throughout the area, and, according to netizens, locals aren’t happy with the mother-in-law’s antics. The Reddit post claims that her “house has been egged” and that she’s “hated by the whole town.”
This is just the latest mother-in-law from hell to go viral on social media after bride blasted her MIL for wearing a white gown to her wedding last year.
