In announcing the next Campfire Chat, Diablo 4 developers have teased the return of vampiric powers from Season 2.

The highlight of Season 2 for many a Diablo 4 player was its introduction of vampiric abilities. Fans quickly latched on to the minor and major powers, so much so that the community mourned their removal at the start of Season 3.

The loss of the Metamorphosis skill proved an especially sore spot for Necromancer mains who’d grown accustomed to its benefits. Players, thus, made it clear that they wanted to see the ability return, even if in the form of an aspect or ring.

A new blog post from Blizzard indicates these hopes and dreams may come to fruition sooner rather than later.

Blizzard hints at return of vampiric powers in Diablo 4

In a Blizzard News post, the developer revealed plans to host its next Diablo 4 Campfire Chat on Thursday, February 29 at 11:00 AM PST.

For starters, the chat will offer a first look at Trials and The Gauntlet. Viewers can also expect the team to share insight into balance updates and leaderboards. And, perhaps most interestingly, “bloodthirsty powers [are] set to make their return,” the message teased.

In other words, Season 2’s vampiric powers should resurface in a future update, though Blizzard has yet to detail specifics.

The advent of Season 3 marked the end of Diablo 4’s vampiric powers, but players received another new feature in return – a robot companion.

Season 3 got off to a rough start, though frequent patches have improved upon the experience. If vampiric powers do indeed make a comeback during Season of the Construct, it’ll be intriguing to see how the mood amongst community members changes.
