A Diablo 4 player shared a video that demonstrates why the Barbarian class’ Ground Stomp skill should not be overlooked.

The Barbarian’s Ground Stomp skill boasts defensive and stun capabilities that have their fair share of advantages. It works by allowing the player to stomp the ground and inflict stun on nearby foes for a few seconds.

In other words, Diablo 4 users probably find the ability most useful for crowd control purposes. But one player recently stumbled across another use for Ground Stomp, especially against difficult bosses.

They shared proof of their findings on the game’s subreddit and the community couldn’t be happier about the tip.

Reddit user ODMtesseract relayed an interesting bit of information that they uncovered while playing through the Elias boss on World Tier 3. “TIL Ground Stomp can create an island of safety in the wave damage effect of a boss,” reads the caption for a gameplay clip the player shared.

Based on the video below, the already formidable Barbarian class can withstand even more damage courtesy of the Ground Stomp. The ability’s Earthquake Aspect creates an earthquake that stuns enemies, and here it’s seen providing an extra layer of safety that guards against certain boss attacks.

One skeptical person said it’s likely a case of the game mixing up the VFX of the Barbarian and Elias. The original poster disagreed, claiming that a similar attack earlier in the fight almost one-shot them. In this case, though, Ground Stomp really did save them from one of Diablo 4’s fiercest boss battles.

Other players in the Reddit thread couldn’t be happier about the tip, with someone replying, “Probably the best post I’ve seen on this subreddit in days tbh.”

“This changes everything,” another Diablo 4 user added further down the thread.

Players may want to do a bit of testing with Ground Stomp before trying to use it this way in a boss battle, of course. But it seems this find just injected the Barbarian class with a new wave of energy.
