After dominating Warzone’s long-range meta for over a season, the Kastov 762 and TR-76 Geists reign of terror appears to be over.

At the start of Season 6, the Kastov 762 led all weapons by a large margin with a 31.6% pick rate. Infinity Ward responded by nerfing the AR’s close damage and range and decreasing its head, neck, and upper torso damage multipliers.

Despite trying, the nerf wasn’t enough to knock the hard-hitting rifle off its pedestal. In the absence of a substantial enough nerf, Season 6 introduced the TR-76 Geist. And it took no time at all for the new bullpup assault rifle to give the Kastov 762 a run for its money.

Both rifles offered fantastic long-range capabilities while still holding their own up close. With just a few weeks remaining on Al Mazrah, Infinity Ward just blew the battle royale’s long-range meta wide open by nerfing both ARs.

TrueGameData reveals extent of Kastov 762 and TR-76 Geist Warzone nerfs

On October 23, the Kastov 762 suffered nerfs to close to mid damage and head, neck, and upper torso damage multipliers. Meanwhile, the TR-76 Geist saw nerfs to its damage at all ranges and head and limb damage multipliers.

It’s impossible to tell how significant the changes are without precise damage values in the Warzone patch notes. Fortunately, TrueGameData revealed how substantial both nerfs will be on the game’s meta.

The Kastov 762 takes one extra shot to kill for all extremities in the 28-41 meter range, which the YouTuber argued is the most important area for ARs.

As a result, TrueGameData argued: “It’s a pretty big nerf. The actual damage has changed a lot across all ranges, so it’s going to feel quite a bit weaker.”

Next, TrueGameData claimed the TR-76 Geist got “absolutely obliterated” in the update. Within the 25-35 meter range, the ARs damage values got significantly decreased.

Post-patch, the AR takes one more bullet to kill at all ranges. The YouTuber concluded: “The Geist got destroyed in this patch. I don’t see it being a meta contender at all anymore.”

What new AR or Battle Rifle will fill the void remains to be seen. But stay locked into our best Warzone loadout guide for an answer.
