Team Envy has sent FaZe Clan to the lower bracket of the CWL Championship with a reverse sweep in round one.

FaZe Clan got out to a hot start in the series, taking London Docks Hardpoint before steamrolling Ardennes Forest Search and Destroy, but momentum shifted in the third map.

Keeping themselves alive with some big plays on London Docks Capture the Flag, Envy forced a second Hardpoint, which they won to push the series to a deciding fifth map, Sainte Marie du Mont SND.

The final game was a back-and-forth affair for the first half of the game, but with the score tied at 3-3 Cuyler ‘Huke’ Garland made the play of the series with a 1v3 to give Envy the lead in both rounds and momentum. Envy were able to close out the map, completing the reverse sweep.

The win is a massive opportunity for Envy, as they now face as clear a run as could be hoped for to the winner bracket finals. Evil Geniuses is the only other Pro League team on their side of the bracket, with all of the big tournament favorites competing on the other side.

Envy’s first opponent will be Ghost Gaming, who themselves defeated Team Sween in round one. FaZe Clan, meanwhile, will have to fight for their lives in the lower bracket, against Team Sween.
